Event cancelled.

Some of you may remember the Grass motorkhana held at the SWOTS in Nelson in February 2021.  Well, this event is back by popular demand, just cleverly delayed to reduce the dust problem which challenged some of us last time. Postponed from June when the paddock was a swamp, the new date is set for Saturday 12 November. Everyone who has entered one of these events in the past knows that the most fun you can have in your Porsche without posting your licence straight to the Government, therefore it is an event not to be missed.

The venue is at Rosedale Road again but now at Number 234 Rosedale Road.  This is off the Neudorf Road not far past Neudorf Winery.  We will start the event around 10am.

Nelsonians will meet at the NMIT Carpark in Lower Queen Street Richmond at at 0830 for an 0845  departure to Moutere Valley.

Blenheimers will meet at the Cork ‘n Keg in Renwick at 0700 for an 0710 departure.  Due to the SH 6 road closure, your route will be the long route, via SH 63 to Tophouse  Kohatu, Tapawera, Stanley Brooke, Thorpe and Dovedale, to Neudorf Road.  Or, alternatively via Golden Downs and 88 Valley Road to Wakefield, Brightwater, Moutere Highway and Neudorf Road.  Both routes are approximately 2.5 hours and 180km.

Another option is a Friday evening drive across to Mapua to stay in the Mapua Leisure Park cabins or motels overnight.  The basic cabins are $87 for two or $113 for 3 persons so if there is any interest in this option, they can be booked.  Friday night dinner would be at the Mapua Wharf or Mapua Sprig and Fern hotel.  Please advise Andrew if interested in this option.

What you need to bring:

A picnic lunch and something to drink.  Enclosed shoes for driving.  A willingness to have fun.

Entry fee is $25 per driver, $5 per spectator; this covers our donation to the Tasman Christian School on behalf of the Landowner, Motorsport NZ levies, and prizes.  We are holding this event on a Saturday as the owner attends Church on Sunday.

Please register now and email apanderson@hotmail.com for further information.  Once you have registered with the Club, you will go on the email list for distribution of further event updates, MSNZ entry form and Supplementary Regulations.

Knowing numbers for the entry docs is essential, so please register by 12:00, Wednesday 09 November.

We’ll see you on Saturday 12 November!

Cheers, Terry and Andrew
