We are pleased to announce the first grass motorkhana in our region for many years. This is a timed event where participants drive one at a time around different courses set up with cones in a grass paddock. These are not high-speed events (typically only 1st and possibly 2nd gears are used) and there is little danger of hitting anything except a cone or a cowpat! They're a good way of testing your car control and older cars can be just as competitive as newer ones.

Local members, John and Heather Smyth, have very kindly offered the use of one of their paddocks on their farm near Ohaupo (directions to the venue will be sent closer to the event). This is a cow paddock and not a bowling green so the surface is understandably a little uneven -- if your Porsche is super low, super-stiff or super valuable, this may not be the event for you. But otherwise, if you don't mind your car getting a bit dirty then it should be a lot of fun.

You do not need any special equipment for this event -- helmets/overalls etc are not required. Partners, sons and daughters are encouraged to register and have a go too.

This event is limited to 15 drivers so be in quick to secure your place.  Note you are not fully registered until you have paid the Club the event fee.

Time:  9 am till 2.30 pm, with a break for lunch - bring your own picnic.  Coffee/tea/juice/biscuits will be provided.

Cost: $30 per driver, spectators free.

The cost covers the Motorsport NZ levy, travel costs for the Clerk of the Course, a contribution towards the landowner for damage to the paddock, and refreshments.
