Fasten your belts, the 2017 Porsche Club NZ Northern Karting Championship Series is about to begin.
This year we have a new format with more laps, more excitement, more racing and fewer excuses.
This year’s focus is less about fastest laps and more about racing!
We are running a Grand Prix format with every driver having a warm up, 2 heats and a final with points to be earned from both heats and the final. Drivers will be in different karts for each of the heats and the final which will level the playing field re individual kart performance.
Each driver will enjoy:
- 5 x warm up laps
- 2 x 10 lap heats
- 15 lap finals (A & B finals)
The emphasis of the event is very much on FUN … just get out there and give it a go. There are a few who take this event seriously but that makes it all the funnier for those that don’t!
This event is suitable for lady drivers and teenagers. A great way to get the family involved. Helmets and all safety gear provided.
Important info for those taking it seriously:
There will be 3 rounds:
Round 1: Wed 20th Sept 7-9pm Formula E Indoor Raceway, 36 Ascot Rd, Mangere, Auckland
Round 2: Wed 19th Oct 7-9pm Extreme Indoor Karts, 82 Kerwyn Ave, East Tamaki, Auckland
Round 3: Sat 11th Nov 10am-12pm Hampton Downs Karting, Hampton Downs Rd, Te Kauwhata, Waikato
Bonus round TBC Raceline Karting, Rotorua
Championship Points Scoring:
- Points awarded 40-22 for A final and 20-2 for B final (Double points for final)
- Points awarded 10-1 for heats
- Bonus 10 point for fastest lap of the day
Important for those NOT taking it seriously: There will be a BBQ (or pizza) and refreshments after each event included in your entry fee. After the racing, you are encouraged to stay, chat, ridicule, make excuses and bask in any moments of glory.

Please arrive at 9.30am for sign in.
Pricing confirmed at $115 per driver, $10 per spectator to include post race BBQ & Beer + refreshments, even a chilled Sav for the ladies.
Hampton Downs Karting restrictions. Min age: 10 years Min height: 140cm
Please note the new format has a strict limit of 30 drivers per round so please book early to avoid disappointment.
