What defines a Classic Porsche?

CLASSIC PORSCHE DEFINITION

After considerable research and discussion the following definition of a classic Porsche is recommended by the Classic and Concours subcommittee.  All Porsche manufactured vehicles shall qualify for “Classic” status, within Porsche Club NZ, 25 years from first year of manufacture of the particular model series.

For Example, models that qualify currently (2012) will be those produced prior to and during 1987, and will also include all 911 3.2’s, 944’s, and all 928’s – (noting that the production of these series commenced prior to 1987)

Models joining the “Classic” ranks in future years will be as follows:

  • 2014 – 911 (type 964 series)
  • 2016 – 968 series
  • 2018 – 911 (type 993 series)
  • 2021 – Boxster (type 986 series)
